Separate work and family life for work life balance.
I found that I was working longer and longer hours. When I wasn't at work I was thinking of work and guilty that I wasn't working.
I would check my laptop for email, the cell for messages, even while watching TV with my wife.
I think I was addicted to work!
There just wasn't any boundary between work and family.
I now turn off the laptop and resist checking emails at night and on the weekend. I try never to bring work home, preferring to keep both work and family life separate (even if it means a late night at the office).
Unplugging myself and allowing myself to rejuvenate has been a great way to reduce stress and I am spending much more quality time with my family.
